Songbird
How does an R&B icon go from the top of the Billboard charts to rock bottom? Minutes before showtime backstage at a dive bar, Violet Starr finds herself struggling to find the answer.
This short came about as a scene for an actor demo reel for my acting client, Harley Ford (the star of this project). The more we talked about the types of roles she wanted to be cast in and her love for dramatic stories, I started to envision the perfect character for her to play.
Songbird is a raw and emotional portrayal of someone--who once had everything--coming unraveled, as she realizes her entire existence in the limelight was never really who she was meant to be in the first place.
